Salita Promotions – Dmitiry Salita brought in red hot super lightweight Brandun Lee who in the Main Event stopped Camilo Prieto in 3 over ShoBox at the Grand Casino, in Hinckley, Minnesota.

In the Main Event 20 year-old Super Lightweight Brandun Lee, 19-0 (17), #141 ¾, stopped Camilo Prieto, 15-3 (9), #141 1/2, out of Miami, FL, at 2:34 of the third round of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the first round Lee did some showboating but showed superior skills coming forward. He landed a pair of rights to the chin of Prieto in the final 30 seconds of the round wobbling Prieto who may not have landed a punch. In the second round Lee continued dominating the round having Prieto covering up for the most part.

In the third round Lee went out to end the fight overpowering Prieto having him out on his feet when referee Mark Nelson wisely stopped the fight.

In the co-feature 19 year-old Welterweight Brian “The Assassin” Norman, Jr., 17-0-1nc (14), #146 1/2, of Atlanta, GA, defeated Flavio Rodriguez, 9-2-1 (7), #146 ¼, of South Central, CA, at 0:57 of the seventh round by TD in a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first round Norman started fast with a left hook on the chin of Rodriguez. Norman’s hand speed was superior and ended the round with another solid left hook on the chin. In the second round Norman continued out landing a game Rodriguez who had a bad habit of adjusting his trunks. In the third round Rodriguez’s best punch up to that point was a right on the chin of Norman, but Norman seemed to keep pace with him.

In the fourth and fifth rounds Norman may have had an edge in a close round. In the sixth round Norman had Rodriguez against the ropes for the first and last minute of the round. In the seventh round Norman came up with his head clashing with Rodriguez who was coming down with his head and suffered a bad cut inside his right eyebrow. The fight was halted at this point by referee Gary Miezwa who brought in the ring physician who called a halt to the fight.

Judges scores were Mariano and Morley 68-65, Taggart 69-64 with this writer same at 69-64.

Lightweight Alejandro “Pork Chop” Guerrero, 12-0 (9), #135 ¼, of Houston, TX, won a majority decision over Jose Angulo, 12-2 (5), #135 1/2, of Ecuador, over 8 rounds.

In the first round Guerrero was the aggressor but the taller Angulo countered well. He continued to out box Guerrero. In the final 10 seconds Angulo landed a low left hurting Guerrero with a mild warning from referee Mark Nelson. In the second round it was close as Guerrero came back well but Angulo almost matched him punch for punch.

In the third round it was Guerrero getting caught by a counter right on the side of the head from Angulo early in the round. Angulo simply out worked Guerrero. In the fourth round Angulo was too busy and fast of hand for Guerrero for the most part.

In the fifth round Angulo continued out landing Guerrero with left uppercuts to the body and straight rights to the chin. In the sixth round Guerrero hurt Angulo with a right on the chin a minute into the round. They seemed to fight on an even level the rest of the round.

In the seventh round Angulo stayed inside winning up until the last 20 seconds when Guerrero hurt Angulo driving him into the ropes. In the eighth and final round both had their moments when Guerrero hurt Angulo with a left hook near the end of the round.

Judges scores were John Mariano 76-76, Elijah Staples 79-73, Tim Taggart, Sr. 78-74 for the winner while this writer had it 77-75 for the loser.

Featherweight Aram “Billy the Warrior” Avagyan, 10-0-1 (4), #125 ¾, of Armenia came off the canvas twice but won a majority decision over “King” Dago Aguero, 15-1 (10), #125 1/2, of San Cristobal, DR, over 8 rounds.

In the first round Avagyan was the aggressor. Aguero was warned by referee Gary Ritter for hitting behind the head several times. Aguero in the final minute scored a right cross on the chin of Avagyan and down he went for an 8-count. He got up and recovered well. In the second round after a minute a chopping right from Aguero on the chin of Avagyan and down he went for another 8-count from referee Ritter. Avagyan got back in the fight in the final minute.

In the third round Avagyan suffered a bloody nose. By the halfway point it was Avagyan outworking Aguero. In the fourth round Avagyan continued to out score Aguero who turned southpaw halfway through the round.

In the fifth round both had their moments. Aguero may have punched himself out but by the end of the round it was close and Avagyan may have had an edge. In the sixth round Aguero was warned several times for holding. After a minute he went back to orthodox and did better but may not have been enough.

In the seventh round a right from Avagyan on the chin made Aguero’s left knee hit as they grabbed one another but the referee missed it. Avagyan seemed to take another round. In the eighth and final round Aguero rocked Avagyan a minute into the round with a right on the chin. Avagyan worked his way back ending the fight in another close round.

Judges scores were Fitzgerald 75-75, Staples 77-74, Taggart, Sr. 76-74 as did this writer score it 76-74.
