At the Banc of California Stadium, in L.A., CA, over DAZN Friday, Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions) presented of 100 rounds of scheduled boxing in the Main Event former WBO World Super Middleweight champion now No. 3 ranked WBA, WBO and No. 5 IBF, NABF Light Heavy champ Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, scored 3 knockdowns stopping WBC No. 6 ranked contender Cuban Sullivan Barrera in 4 rounds. In the Co-feature former IBF World Super Feather champ Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz, defeated former WBA World Super Feather champ Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna, for the WBC interim World Lightweight title.

In the Main Event former WBO Super Middle champ southpaw Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, 42-0 (28), #174 ½, of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, MEX, stopped Cuban Sullivan “Fefita” Barrera, 22-3 (14), #174 ½, of Miami, FL, at 1:34 of the fourth round scoring 3 knockdowns in a scheduled 12. 

In the third round Ramirez landed a left hook to the body dropping Barrera for an 8-count from referee Thomas Taylor near the end of the round. In the fourth round Ramirez dropped Barrera twice with body shots forcing the referee to call a halt.

“I had been training for landing those body shots. I want to take all the belts,” said Ramirez.

Former WBA Feather and IBF Super Feather champ southpaw Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz, Jr., 32-1-1 (15), #134 ½, of Downey, CA, former WBA Super Feather champ defeated southpaw Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna, 36-3-1 (25), #134 ¾, of Albany, NY, for the WBC interim World Lightweight title, over 12 rounds.

In the third round a clash of heads caused a cut on the left eyebrow of Diaz. In the fourth round referee Raul Caiz, Jr., took away a point from Diaz for hitting behind the head. In the next three rounds Diaz came back strong. In the eighth through the tenth rounds Diaz took control.

In the tenth round it proved to be the most exciting with both fighters letting it all hang out. In the twelfth and final round Diaz finished the stronger of the two.

Scores were 117-110, 116-111 and 115-112 with this writer 116-111.  

WBO World Female Light Fly champ Tenkai Tsunami, 28-13-1 (16), #107 ¼, of Hamura, Tokyo, JAP, lost her title to former WBA World Female Mini champ Seneisa “Super Bad” Estrada, 21-0 (8), #108, of East L.A., CA, over 10 rounds.

In the first five rounds Estrada switched from orthodox to southpaw having a slight lead. In the next couple of rounds Tsunami came back but Estrada finished the last three rounds stronger. Referee was Raul Caiz, Sr.

Scores were 99-91 and 98-92 twice. This writer had it 97-93.

Lightweight Hector Tanajara, Jr., 19-1 (5), #135, of San Antonio, TX, lost to southpaw William “Camaron” Zepeda, 23-0 (21), #134 ¼, of San Mateo, Atenco, MEX, after 6 rounds of a scheduled 10 for the vacant WBA International title.

In the first two rounds Tanajara moved using an effective jab. From the third through the sixth rounds the aggressive Zepeda’s body work took over. In between the sixth and seventh the Tanajara corner, Robert Garcia refused to let Tanajara continue. Referee was Raul Caiz, Jr.    

WBA World Female Flyweight champ Nakao Fujioka, 19-2-1 (7), #111 ¾, of Tokyo, JAP, defended her title winning a majority decision over Mexican Sulem Urbina Ochoa, 12-2 (2), #112, of Phoenix, AZ, over 10 rounds.

Scores were 95-95, 99-91 and 96-94. Referee was Ray Corona.

Super Bantam Azat Hovhannisyan, 20-3 (16), #122, Armenia, L.A., CA, defeated Jose “El Torito” Santos Gonzalez, 23-9-1 (13) #121 ¾, Guadalajara, Jalisco, MEX, over 10 rounds.

Scores were 100-90, 99-91 twice. Referee was Ray Corona.

Bryan “CHARY” Chevalier, 16-1-1 (12), #126, Bayamon, PR, defeated James “Crunch Time” Wilkins, 9-2 (6), #125 ¾, of Dallas, TX, over 10 rounds for the vacant NABO featherweight title.

In the eighth round Chevalier lost a point pulling Wilkins down by the head by referee Thomas Taylor. Scores were 97-92, 95-94 and 96-93 o

Super Feather Lamont Roach, Jr., 21-1-1 (9), #130, of Upper Marlboro, MD, knocked out Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas, 22-5-1 (14), #128 ¼, of Mexico City, Distrito Federal, MEX, at 2:14 of the second of a 10.

In the second round a body shot from Roach dropped Rosas for the count by referee Jerry Cantu.
