On August 26th Australia’s Tim Tszuy, WBO Global champion will be fighting the former Jeff “The Hornet” Horn, former WBO welterweight champion at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Tszyu’s famous Russian born father Kostya “Thunder from Down Under” Tszyu, 31-2 (25), retired in June of 2005. During his career he won the WBC, WBA and IBF Light Welterweight titles. He was inducted into the IBHOF in 2011. He made his debut while living in Australia.
Horn, 20-2-1 (13), out of Queensland in his last bout in December of 2019 reversed a loss in his previous fight to Michael Zerafa, 27-3, by majority decision. He lost his world title to Terence “Bud” Crawford in June of 2018. In July of 2017 he won a disputed decision over Manny “Pac Man” Pacquaio to win the WBO title.
Tszyu, 15-0 (15), is from New South Wales and this will be his biggest test yet against Horn. Horn is No. 5 and Tszyu No. 9 in the WBO, No. 6 in the IBF and No. 12 in the WBC rankings.
