Do a mandatory pre-fight meal with J.R. Jowett-Boy at The Melrose Diner. Sad to say, but this may be my last report – at least for awhile. Don’t know if it’s my cancer acting up. but I find it VERY difficult putting any weight on my left leg. Will be seeing doctor on Monday with MRI results.
P.S. No Greg Sirb in building so press was able to grab ringside seats.
Southpaw FRANK DeALBA, 131, Reading, W-6U (60-54 twice; 59-55 (same as me). JESUS LULE, 129, Ft. Meyers. No KD’s. Little JL gives it a go. Presses action, but has no ammunition. FD controls that easily; blocks and moves, but he doesn’t have a chance to really set down on his punches.

A white boy rumble!!! Frail SCOTT KELLEHER, 136 1/4, Phila., goes to 3-0 with a W-4U (all 40-36), the now 0-2-1 JACK GRADY, 140, Buffalo. No KD’s. Sloppy but entertaining. Can you count how many times these guys closed their eyes and swung. Too many.
Slight case of a robbery? Shorter TAHIR THOMAS, 166, Salisbury, MD., had to settle for a 1-1-1- draw over six agst 10-0 ANTOYWAN AIKENS, 167 1/4, A.C. Despite being floored in first, TT worked his ass off. Smoother, and taller AA found that uncomfortable. and tiring, being dropped in the sixth and final session. Scores: 57-55 each; 56-56. Me: 57-55 for TT
CHRISTOPHER BROOKER, 171, Phila., W-4U (all 40-35) EDGAR PEREZ, 178, Chicago. EP is a useful punching bag and he serves that purpose well. though this time he was dropped by a rt. uppercut in round two. Also had cut around left eye round three.
Can HAFIZ MONTOMERY, 206 1/2, Toms River, NJ, fight? Maybe, but at 2-0, he seems confident, scoring a KO-1 (2:34) win over winless DEVON MOSLEY, 206 3/4, Capt. Hts., MD. One KD – a single rt. DM struggles up at 7, but in no condition to go on – RSF.
ACTION!!!! Bull like HECTOR PEREZ, 194, A.C., TKO-2 (1:44), debuting (DOB: 9-2-86), tall TYRELL COLSTON, 187 1/4, Phila., TC uses reach and movement to control and even drops foe hard with one right. However, HP stays focused and pushes matters. Then he drops a weakened TC twice in second for win!!
Debuting (DOB: 10-1-88), DARRYL BUNTING, 169, Dr-4 (39-37 each; 38-38), RYAN BIVINS, 165 3/4, Phila., No KD’s, but good action, as internet boxing writer Bivins is all guts agst more aggressive foe. He fights back hard in fourth to pull out the draw, but he just doesn’t have the strength or proper se of right hand to ward off foe. Me: 39-37 for Bunting.
Comebacking DERRICK BIVINS, 125, Phila., TKO-2 (0:45, ELY MENDEZ, 125 1/2, Reading. Lean DB has his hands full with busy little EM, but then out of nowhere, a single right hand puts EM on all fours! Betas count at six, but rightly so, RSF.
In a throw away four that gives boxing a bad name, debuting (DOB: 5-14-83) COREY MORLEY, a disgusting 284, Phila., Dr-4, a nearly dead man walking, white boy (but most of you should know this by now) BRIAN DONAHUE, 204, Phila. No KD’s. Just lumbering and stumbling.
Scores: 39-37 each; 38-38. Me: Like I cared enough to keep score.
