Golota vs. Valuev a Possibility?

According to the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, former heavyweight title challenger Andrew Golota (41-6-1, 33 KOs), is scheduled to fight WBA Heavyweight Champion Nikolay Valuev (49-1, 34 KOs), on Dec. 20th, 2008 at Madison Square Garden.

The article quoted long-time Golota friend and business advisor, Ziggi Rozalski, as stating that the fighters as well as the promoters (Don King and Wilfried Sauerland) are in agreement and that the contracts are signed. According to Rozalski, there is a 99% chance that this fight will occur. The only contingency appears to be that Golota must get passed Ray Austin (25-4-4, 16 KOs) in a fight scheduled to take place Nov. 7th in Chengdu, China.

However, there is some reason to doubt whether this fight will occur. Recently, multiple news sources reported that Valuev was to close an agreement to face Evander Holyfield on Dec. 20th. When speaking with FightNews, Valuev dismissed the claim as a ridiculous rumor, stating that he
