JOHNSON AND ROBINSON ARE VICTORIOUS!

Bronx, NY – Apr 22, 2008 – UNDEFEATED #9 WBA Heavyweight, Kevin ‘Kingpin’ Johnson (19-0-1, 6KO’s), stepped up his game on Friday night, scoring a unanimous 10 round decision, 97-93 (twice), 96-94, over a very game and tough Terry Smith (30-5-1, 18KO’s), telecast live on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights, from the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma.
Johnson kept Smith at the end of his razor sharp jab, and used his lightening speed and power to systematically break down the once highly touted Smith. Smith kept the pressure on all night but Johnson was able to avoid most of his power shots while picking Smith apart. The charismatic New Jersey native has steadily climbed the Heavyweight ladder and continues to dominate his opponents.

Johnson has impressed Hall of Fame trainer and ESPN2 analyst Teddy Atlas, ‘A little bit of an Ali look- alike, maybe a little bit of a Holmes look-alike’ said the long time TV commentator. Atlas went on to say that Johnson has ‘been in with some decent fighters, hasn’t been in soft, has fought some good quality fighters’.
Back East, in another bout featuring a Star Boxing fighter, Welterweight prospect, ‘The New’ Ray Robinson (8-0, 3KO’s) made his hometown debut Friday night at the National Guard Armory in Philadelphia. The UNDEFEATED Robinson was sensational against tough Jason Jordan dominating the fight at every turn. Robinson dropped Jordan four times in route to winning a lopsided 4 round decision.

‘I am pleased with the performances of Johnson and Robinson,’ said Star Boxing’s Joe DeGuardia, ‘They both have championship potential.’
