By: Christopher Roche

Jason Litzau added Buddy McGirt to his team, and he hoped to box and improve his defense, but the “American Boy” was haunted last night as Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero dominated Litzau and stopped him in round 8.

Litzau was sent to the canvas twice in round 8, and after the second knockdown, Litzau rose to his feet, but stumbled back down. The fight was stopped. The 24 year-old Guerrero improved to 22-1-1, 15 KO’s. Litzau, 24, dropped to 23-2, 19 KO’s. The bout was held at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California.

Sechew “Iron Horse” Powell is still trying to erase the memory of his dismal HBO performance against Ishe Smith. After that bout, Powell was released by DiBella Entertainment, and he now fights for Warriors Boxing.

Powell, of Brooklyn, NY, came out for target practice last night, as he unloaded on overmatched Kevin Finley. Powell stopped Finley at 2:23 of round 1, after knocking his opponent down twice. Powell has looked impressive since the Smith debacle, and he is now the IBF’s number 1 contender at junior middleweight. Powell, 28, is now 23-1, 14 KO’s. Finley dropped to 12-1-1, 9 KO’s. The bout was held at the Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, Louisiana.

In other action on FNF, Antuwan Echols fought to a draw with late sub Mike Walker. Walker filled in for Allan Green who pulled out of the fight against his promoter’s wishes.
