A DOUBLE DOSE OF ACTION, NOVEMBER 17TH ON HBO BAD

HBO’s late-night boxing series presents a double dose of action in the lighter weights when HBO Boxing After Dark: Joan Guzman vs. Humberto Soto and Abner Mares vs. Damian David Marchiano is seen Saturday, Nov. 17 at 9:45 PM (ET/PT) from the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, exclusively on HBO. The HBO Sports team will be ringside for the event, which will be available in HDTV, as well as closed-captioned for the hearing impaired and presented in Spanish on HBO Latino.

Other HBO playdate: Nov. 18 (9:00 AM).

HBO2 playdates: Nov. 18 (5:00 PM) and 20 (11:30 PM).

Undefeated super featherweight champ Joan Guzman (27-0, 17 KOs), originally from the Dominican Republic and now living in Brooklyn, puts his perfect record on the line against top contender Humberto Soto (43-5-2, 27 KOs), from Tijuana, Mexico, in a scheduled 12-round title contest. Guzman, defending his super featherweight title for only the second time, was also a champion in the super bantamweight division. Soto, known for his attacking style, is on a five-year, 20-fight winning streak.

In the opening bout, former U.S. Olympian Abner Mares (14-0, 9 KOs), from Los Angeles, continues his quest for his first title when he takes on Damian David Marchiano, (14-2, 5 KOs) from Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a scheduled ten-round bantamweight contest.
