Tuaman Puts Montana to Sleep

By: Christopher Roche

David “Tuaman” Tua entered the ring at his lowest weight in years and what little we saw of him was impressive.

Tua let Mexican champion Saul Montana box for the first two minutes of the round, and then Tua zeroed in on his soft looking opponent. Tua landed a body shot, and then he doubled up his left hook and planted Montana on his back for the ten count at 2:15 of the first round.

The 34 year-old Tua improved to 48-3-1, 41 KOs and Montana dropped to 48-15, 42 KOs. According to promtoer Cedric Kushner, Tua is set to fight again in Michigan on September 7.

In other action on the Pinnacle Fite Night Card from Sandy, Utah, heavyweight Roman Greenberg defeated Damon Reed via a ninth round TKO, and cruiserweight Jeremy Williams barely squeeked by Gary Gomez in an eight round split decision.
