Samuel Peter, the man who twice won the WBC eliminator has refused to step aside for returning champion Vitali Klitchko. Peter was offered 2.5 million dollars and a guaranteed fight with the winner of the proposed Oleg Maskaev Vitali Klitchko bout.

Peter will now target Maskaev who won the title via 12th round ko over Hasim Rahman in August. Maskaev recently retained his title by beating fringe contender Peter Okhello. Maskaev has been hoping for the Klitchko fight due to the fact that his purse would have been larger and Klitchko is coming off a 2 year layoff.
