In a conference call Tuesday afternoon, Oscar De La Hoya announced that Freddie Roach had been chosen to replace Floyd Mayweather Sr. as his trainer for the upcoming May 5th superfight with pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The call ended weeks of speculation after De La Hoya rejected Floyd Sr.
