I have always enjoyed watching some pass 49-0 and all later get beat. One even got to 49-0 and lost. Then there’s 48-0 by Holmes and saying he got robbed due to Marciano? Never mentions how Michael Spinks became the first light heavyweight champion to become the heavyweight champion by beating him. He did get robbed in the re-match.
Now there are 3 unbeaten boxers with 40 plus fights. We all know about Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez and his 46-0 (38) record from Nicaragua. He has been on Gennady “GGG” Golovkin’s cards. He holds the WBC Super Flyweight title having moved up from being WBA flyweight and minimum champion. We know he can fight but had a fight on his hands in his last fight against Carlos Cuadras, 35-0-1, over 12 rounds and being cut over and under his eye. He is scheduled on March 18th on the Golovkin-Jacobs card and fighting Wisaksil Wangek, 41-4-1, from Thailand with a “built-up record” like most from that country. Cuadras is on the same card so look to a re-match between him and Gonzales.
Chayaphon Moonsri, 45-0 (17), from Thailand is the WBC Minimum champion with 6 defenses defeating 28 with winning records, 14 with losing records, 1 with an even record and 2 making their debuts. So you can see not exactly defeating major opponents. His last fight was January 25th with nothing scheduled.
The third one is William Fernando “Thompson” Souza Bezerra, 41-0 (40), of Brazil and the South American Cruiserweight champion with 12 defenses. He is not ranked in the WBA, WBC, IBF or WBO but is No. 32 in the IBO rankings. His only non-knockout was a win by DQ. The only opponent with a losing record he fought was in his second bout. He has defeated 17 unbeaten boxers. His amateur record is listed at 96-2 (68). All but one of his fights were in Brazil and that one was in Mexico. He has scored 19 first round knockouts. Articles about him claim his record is in question. He had 16 bouts in 2010, 9 in 2011, 8 in 2012, 3 in 2013, 2 in 2014 and 2015 with only 1 in 2016. Evander Holyfield was the “real deal” but is Bezerra “real”?
