Living legend Roy Jones Jr. continues his comeback July 14th when he takes on undefeated Anthony Hanshaw in Biloxi, Miss. It will be a light heavyweight fight.
Jones was at one time considered the pound for pound king of boxing. Now he is just trying to see if there is enough left to compete at a world class level. Hanshaw will be no easy test. Jones is 50-4 with 38 KO’s. Hanshaw is 21-0-1 with 14 knockouts. Although Jones is the more accomplished fighter, Hanshaw has been in with some tough guys. He also has an extensive and impressive amateur record. He met both Jermain Taylor and Kelly Pavlik in the amateur ranks. Hanshaw’s astute trainer John Russell sees Hanshaw pulling an upset. Remember Russell was in the corner of Buster Douglas in Tokyo when he upset Mike Tyson.
The fight will be a $ 29.95 PPV buy and the promoters are trying to put together a solid undercard for the event..
