The funeral arrangements are being done by Scheeter Funeral Home
(856-429-8545) in Cherry Hill, although everything is taking place at the
church.

The Phila. Daily News is expected to run these arrangement details in
Saturday’s paper.

Giardello was a talented, persistent fighter who was a crowd favorite because of his ready, willing and able style; He always gave a good account of himself; He boxed well, could dish it out and take it too; During his career, he won the Middleweight Championship of the World

Joey defeated such men as “Sugar” Ray Robinson, Dick Tiger, Billy Graham, Joey Giambra, Ruben Carter, Harold Green, Gil Turner, Pierre Langlois, Henry Hank, Holly Mims, Randy Sandy, Walt Cartier, Garth Panter, Willie Troy, Rory Calhoun, Chico Vejar, Del Flanagan, Ralph “Tiger” Jones and Ernie Durando

Giardello was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993
