This past weekend on the undercard of Pacquiao vs Marquez, Philadelphia’s undefeated prospect Danny “Swift” Garcia, once again dazzled fans with his power and speed when he annihilated Charles Wade with a short left hook to the head, ending the contest in 43 seconds of the first round. Working off the jab, Garcia utilized his speed and quickness to get close to Wade before blasting him with a left hook that was heard throughout the arena.
With the win, Garcia moves to (4-0, 4 KO’s) and is scheduled to fight on April 19, 2008 when Joe Calzaghe battles Bernard Hopkins at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada,. An elated Garcia commented on his victory stating, “All the hard work is paying off. My dad (trainer) and I are dedicated to being the best. Right now its time to take a few days off, enjoy the victory, and then get back in the gym. I’m excited what Shelly Finkel and Goldenboy Promotions got lined up next for me. I can’t wait to step it up.”
