At the Mohegan Sun Casino, Wednesday, over Showtime’s Sho-Box the Next Generation in Uncasville, CT, Paco Presents – Paco Damian, Sampson Boxing – Sampson Lewkowicz, Kings Promotions – Marshall Kaufmann, DiBella Entertainment – Lou DiBella and Salita Promotions – Dmitriy Salita presented in the Main Event Yeis Gabriel Solano losing to Mykquan Williams in a 10 round Super Lightweight bout. In the co-feature Nunez and Avagyan fought to a majority draw in 8.

In the Main Event Super Lightweight southpaw Yeis “Tigre” Solano, 15-1 (10), #139.5, of Monteria, COL, lost to “Marvelous” Mykquan Williams, 16-0-1 (7), #139.5, of East Hartford, CT, over 10 rounds.

In the round Williams landed combinations against southpaw Solano who landed one at a time. In the second round aggressor Solano landed lead lefts to the chin of Williams who was the busier of the two. In the third round it was close with Solano having a slight edge. In the fourth and fifth rounds Solano did better outworking the quicker Williams. In the sixth round Williams got his second wind out landing Solano. Williams had swelling under the right eye.

In the seventh round it was close as Williams had an edge. In the eighth round Williams dropped Solano with a right on the right shoulder for an 8 count. In the ninth round it was close with Williams having an edge. In the tenth and final round a questionable low blow from Solano cost him a point. Both landed punches with their feet tangling and went down with the referee calling it a knockdown against Williams. Afterwards the low blow and knockdown were reversed by ringside judge.

Scores were Tom Carusone 97-92 with 96-93 by Steve Weisfeld and Glenn Feldman along with this writer. Referee was Danny Schiavone.

In the co-feature Featherweight southpaw Jose “Magnifico” Nunez, 11-0-2 (4), #127.25, of Curundu, PAN, fought to a majority draw with Olympian Aram “Billy” Avagyan, 10-0-2 (4), #128, of Armenia, and Glendale, CA, over 8 exciting rounds.

In the first round Avagyan was the aggressor landing harder punches but southpaw Nunez a little busier. In the second round the busier Nunez landing wide punches to body of Avagyan whose hands were held high. In the third round it was close Nunez landing left uppercuts to the mid-section with Avagyan rocking Nunez in the final seconds with a right on the chin. In the fourth round it turned into a brawl. Avagyan was the harder puncher but Nunez landing more.

In the fifth round Avagyan had Nunez holding on in the final ten seconds after a spirited round. In the sixth round Avagyan had Nunez missing more yet Nunez did enough to take the round. In the seventh round Avagyan had Nunez against the ropes for the most part. In the eighth and final round Nunez got his second wind outscoring Avagyan in what turned out to be an exciting fight.

Scores were Pete Hary 77-75 Nunez with Tom Carusone and John McKaie scoring 76-76 as did this writer scored it. Referee was Johnny Callas.

Featherweight Pedro Marquez came down sick cancelling his bout with Martino Jules.
