From a single parent household in West Philadelphia, life has always been tough for Julian Williams. At a young age, he was constantly getting into fights with his brothers and at school, until he set foot in the gym at age 12 and unveiled his love for boxing. Williams has set his goals high and is determined to set records and break barriers while giving his all on each one of his fights.
“Each fight, I just want to be better than the last fight and I’m on the cusp of being a contender and getting the title shot. When I win the title, I want to break the title defense record which is held by Terry Norris. I want to go down as the best junior middleweight to ever lace up a pair of gloves.”
This I AM A FIGHTER feature on Williams, is was taped before the undefeated super welterweight scored a TKO over Marcello Matano in an IBF Super Welterweight Eliminator bout on March 5th, 2016.
The WBA Super World Super Welterweight, IBF World Super Welterweight and IBO World Super Welterweight champion, Julian “J Rock” Williams will be making his first title defense at the Liacouras Center (Temple U), in North Philadelphia tonight against Jeison Rosario.
