At the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, over Showtime PPV, in the Main Event IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO Super Middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez won a lopsided decision over a reluctant IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO Super Welterweight champion Jermell ‘Iron’ Man’ Charlo.
In the Main Event IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO Super Middle champ Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, 60-2-2 (39), #167 ½, of Guadalajara, Jalisco, MEX, defeated IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO Super Welter champ Jermell ‘Iron’ Man’ Charlo, 35-2-1 (19), #167 ½, of Houston, TX, over 12 lopsided rounds.
In the first round Charlo rarely landed a punch after half a round of neither landing one. In the next three rounds Canelo backed Charlo up to the ropes and easily outworked him. In the fifth round and sixth rounds Charlo’s corner are urging him to be busier. Being taller and having a reach advantage he should be using the jab but Canelo continues chasing him around the ring.
In the seventh round after one minute Canelo landed an overhand right having Charlo against the ropes followed by a body shot and a delay knockdown for an 8-count from Referee Harvey Dock. He managed to get through the round. In the eighth round through the eleventh Charlo fought like he just wanted to go the distance.
In the twelfth and final round Charlo started using the jab and throwing the right but it was too little too late.
Scores were 118-109 twice and 119-108 as was KH.
Super Welter southpaw Jesus ‘Mono’ Ramos, Jr., 20-1 (16), #153 ½, of Casa Grande, AZ, lost a disputed decision to southpaw Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin, 26-2 (18), #153 ½, of Orlando, FL, over 12 rounds.
In the third and fourth rounds Ramos went to the body taking the rounds forcing the action. In the fifth and sixth rounds Ramos continues forcing Lubin to the ropes. In the eighth round the corner got on Lubin for not fighting back enough and allowing Ramos to drive him to the ropes so often. In the ninth and tenth Lubin did a little better but not enough to take the rounds.
In the eleventh and twelfth rounds Lubin kept things close while Ramos still looks like the winner.
Scores were 117-111, 116-112 and 115-113 Lubin with 116-112 Ramos KH.

WBC World Interim champ Welter champ Yordenis ’54 Milagros’ Ugas, 27-6 (12), #147, of Santiago de Cuba, CUBA, and Miami, FL, lost to WBC Continental Americas Welter champ Mario ‘Azteca’ Barrios, 28-2 (18), #146 ¾, of San Antonio, TX, over 12 rounds.
In the second rounds final seconds a left hook from Barrios on the chin and down went Ugas for an 8-count from Referee Thomas Taylor. In between rounds seems Ugas has a problem with his right eye. In the third round Ugas came back well to outwork Barrios.
In the fourth and fifth rounds Ugas does a fine job of blocking the jab of Barrios countering just enough to win the rounds. In the final seconds of the sixth round a right from Barrios finally got through on the chin knocking Ugas back several steps and almost down.
In the ninth round Barrios out landed Ugas for the most part until the final seconds when Ugas tried stealing the round. In between rounds referee Taylor asked the ring physician to check the swelling around the eyes of Ugas. In the tenth round Barrios continues outscoring Ugas whose right eye is near closed. Once again the ring physician checks the eye between rounds.
In the eleventh round with a minute remaining Ugas lands two punches just below the belt and gets a warning from referee Taylor. In the twelfth and final round twice the mouthpiece of Ugas is spit out again and cost him a point. It was another round for Barrios. For the second time in the fight Ugas was dropped.
Scores were 117-108 and 118-107 twice as did KH.
WBA Inter-Continental and WBC Latino Middle champ southpaw Elijah Garcia, 16-0 (13), #159 ½, of Phoenix, AZ, stopped Jose ‘Toro’ Armando Resendiz, 14-2 (10), #159 ½, of Compostela, Nayarit, MEX, at 1:23 of the eighth round of a scheduled 10 rounds.
In the first rounds final seconds a left from Garcia on the chin almost dropped Resendiz. In the second and third rounds the slugfest continued with these two almost non-stop. In the fourth round Garcia sticks out a weak jab while Resendiz throws home run bombs with his right.
In the fifth round Garcia kept his right low and did little throwing let along landing with Resendiz easily taking the round. In the eighth round Garcia dropped Resendiz with a pair of body shots and a left on the chin for an 8-count from referee Weeks. Garcia jumped all over him upon the count ending until Referee Weeks called a halt.
WBC Continental Americas heavy champ Frank ‘The Cuban Flash’ Sanchez, 23-0 (16), of Guamtanamo, Cuba and Miami, FL, stopped Scott Alexander, 17-6-2 (9), of L.A., CA, at the end of the fourth round of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the second round a right from Gvozdyk on the chin and down went Rodrigues. He got up at 9 but Referee Tony Weeks waved it off.
