At Resorts World Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday over ESPN and ESPN+ Bob Arum (Top Rank) presented in the Main Event former IBF, WBO and WBA Lightweight champion now Super Lightweight Teofimo “The Takeover” Lopez, of Brooklyn, New York stopped Pedro “Ropa” Campa of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, in the seventh round after scoring a knockdown for the vacant WBO International and NABF titles. In the co-feature 19 year-old Xander Zayas stopped Elias Espadas in the fifth round scoring several knockdowns for the vacant WBO NABO Super Welterweight title.
In the Main Event former Lightweight champion Teofimo “The Takeover” Lopez, 17-1 (13), #138.8, of Brooklyn, NY, stopped Pedro “Ropa” Campa, 34-1-1 (23), #139.4, of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, at 2:14 of the seventh round of a scheduled 10 rounds, for the vacant WBO Int’l and NABF titles.
In the first round Lopez came out throwing bombs taking the round. In the second round Campa came back well holding his own, but not enough to take the round. In the third round Lopez rocked Campa with a right on the chin halfway through the round after giving Campa the shoulder setting it up but missed by Referee Tony Weeks.
In the fourth round’s final ten seconds Lopez landed a flurry of punches possibly stealing the round. In the fifth round Campa continued being the aggressor for the most part possibly taking his first round.
In the sixth round Campa’s left eye area was starting to swell. Halfway through the round Lopez’s mouthpiece was knocked out. Referee Weeks picked it up without getting it washed off putting it back into the mouth of Lopez.
In the seventh round a right and left jab from Lopez on the chin and down went Campa on his butt for an 8-count from referee Weeks. Campa got up taking the fight to Lopez who turned southpaw momentarily. Lopez landed solid punches drawing blood from the nose of Campa and landing three punches behind the head while referee weeks came in late calling a halt.
Lopez was coming off a loss returning after almost nine months. Lopez is managed by David McWater.
Super Featherweight Andres “Savage” Cortes, 18-0 (10), #130.6, of Las Vegas, NV, defeated former NABF Super Feather champ Abraham “Fily” Montoya, 20-4-1 (14), #131, of Mexicali, Baja California, MEX, over 8 good rounds.
In the first round Cortes was cut on the right eyebrow from the aggressive Montoya’s right. In the second round Montoya continued pressing the fight. In the third and fourth rounds Cortes started countering well taking both rounds.
In the sixth round Montoya had Cortes in a corner missing a left buy landing a right on the chin knocking him into the ropes that should have been scored a knockdown by Referee Kenny Bayless. In the seventh round Cortes came back well by out landing Montoya. In the eighth and final round Montoya chased the countering Cortes with the latter taking the round and the fight.
Scores were 79-73 by all 3 judges with 78-74 here.
In the co-feature 19 year-old Super Welterweight Xander Zayas, 14-0 (10), #153, of San Juan, PR, and Sunrise, FL, stopped Elias “The Latin Kid” Espadas, 22-5-1ND (15), #153.6, of Merida, Yucatan, MEX, at 0:23 of the fifth round of a scheduled 8 rounds for the vacant WBO NABO Super Welterweight championship.
In the first round a left hook from Zayas on the chin dropped Espadas for an 8-count from Referee Russell Mora but managed to get through the round while Zayas warned twice for low blows. In the second round it turned into a slugfest by both boxers with little defense.
In the third round Zayas would land a combination on the chin while Espadas would counter with a left hook on the chin on several occasions. In the final minute Zayas rocked Espadas with a left hook on the chin.
In the fourth round Zayas had his way for the most part. In between rounds the referee called in the ring physician to check the right arm of Espadas. In the fifth round after twenty seconds Zayas landed a looping right on the chin and down went Espadas for an 8-count by referee Mora. Upon rising referee Mora waved it off with no argument from Espadas!
Featherweight Enrique “El Ejecutor” Durantes Vivas, 22-2 (11), #127.8, of Texcoco, MEX, won a split decision over southpaw Edy “Dinamita” Valencia, 19-8-6 (7), #127.6, of Culiacan, Sinaloa, MEX, over 8 hard rounds.
In the first three rounds Vivas pushed Valencia to the ropes for the most part out landing him in a slugfest. In the fourth and fifth Valencia came back having the edge in punches landed though still coming off the ropes.
In the seventh round Valencia kept the fight in the middle of the ring for the first time. In the eighth and final round Vivas came out throwing punches in bunches until running into a left on the chin with a minute remaining. He came right back taking the fight to Valencia.

Middleweight 2021 Olympian Troy “The Transformer” Isley, 7-0 (4), #156, of Alexandria, VA, defeated Victor Toney, 6-2-1 (5), #156.8, of Youngstown, OH, over 6 rounds.
In the first two rounds Isley was the aggressor outworking Toney using a solid jab and following rights to the chin of Toney. In the third round Toney landed counter right to the chin of Isley knocking his head back.
In the fourth and fifth rounds Isley had the edge. In the sixth and final round Toney came out southpaw for the first minute before returning to orthodox. His lack of offense cost him the fight as Toney was the busier of the two.
Scores were 60-54 with 59-55 twice as was my score.

Featherweight 2021 Olympic Silver Medalist Duke Ragan 7-0 (1), #126.6, of Cincinnati, OH, defeated D’Angelo Fuentes, 7-1 (4), #125.6, of Coconut Creek, FL, after 6 hard fought rounds.
In the second rounds halfway point Ragan landed 3 body shots. With a minute remaining Fuentes landed a left hook to the chin buckling the knees of Ragan. In the third and fourth rounds Ragan came back well after possibly losing his first round of his young career.
In the fifth round Fuentes came out firing having a good round. In the sixth and final round it was all Ragan firing with both hands backing Fuentes up for the most part.
Scores were 58-56 twice and 59-55 with 58-56 here.

Super Lightweight Omar Rosario, 8-0 (2), #140.8, of Caguas, PR, defeated Esteban Munoz, 6-2 (4), #140.6, of San Bernadino, CA, over 6 close rounds.
In the first two rounds Rosario showed a good chopping right with Munoz showing a red mark near the right eye by the end of the second round. In the third and fourth rounds Munoz showed an effective left uppercut to the chin of Rosario.
In the sixth and final round though warned twice by Referee Kenny Bayless for infractions Rosario seemed to do enough to take the round and the fight though a close one.

Lightweight Charlie Sheehy, 4-0 (3), #134.4, of Brisbane, CA, defeated Juan Manuel “El Fierros” Castaneda, 2-1-2-1nc (0), #133.8, of Mexico City, Distrito Federal, MEX, over 4 rounds.
In the first two rounds Castaneda kept coming forward swinging wildly missing more than half his punches but having a better second round. Sheehy landed a number of quick rights to the chin.
In the third rounds final minute Sheehy stunned Castaneda with a left hook to the chin. In the fourth and final round Sheehy on three occasions rocked an ever coming forth game Castaneda on the chin.
