At the RCC Boxing Academy, Ekaterinburg, Russia, over ESPN+ Saturday, German Titov (Titov/RCC Boxing Promotions), featured in the Main Event Russia’s Super Lightweight Fedor “Knockout Man” Papazov scoring a vicious ninth round knockout over Arslan Magomedov!
In the Main Event Super Lightweight Fedor “Knockout Man” Papazov, 23-4 (14), of Tuapse, Russia, knocked out Arslan Magomedov, 7-2-1 (6), of Makhachkala, Russia, at 0:29 of the ninth round of a 10.
In the second round with a minute remaining Magomedov landed a solid right on the chin with Papazov countering with a left hook on the chin. In the third round the taller Magomedov landed well for the better part of the round. In the fourth round Magomedov suffered a nasty cut on his left eyebrow. In the fifth round with a minute remaining a right hand from Papazov opened up the cut again.
In the ninth round a tremendous right counter from Papazov on the chin and down went Magomedov and out. It took some time for him to recover but fortunately did.
In the co-feature Georgian Oganes Ustyan, 7-0 (2), of Sochi, Russia, defeated Oleksandr Abramian, 5-2-1 (2), of Dnipro, Ukraine, over 8 rounds to win the vacant IBF Youth and WBA Asia Pacific Youth Super Lightweight titles.
In the first two rounds Abramian never used his left only landing plenty of rights to the head of Ustyan. (Later reported he tore the bicep in his left arm) In the third through the sixth rounds Ustyan used a two handed attack to outland Abramian who was swinging wildly only able to use his right while jumping all over the ring.
In the seventh round and final eighth rounds Ustyan easily took against the one-armed Abramian who showed courage fighting with one arm for at least six rounds.
Scores were 79-73 twice and 77-75 with this writer 78-74.
Middleweight southpaw Mikalai Vesialou, 11-0-2 (5), of Soligorsk, Belarus, ended in split decision draw with Artur “Black Lightning” Osipov, 17-3-2 (11), of Michurinsk, Russia, over 8 rounds.
In the first four rounds the southpaw Vesialou (also a boxing judge) seemed to outwork Osipov for the most part but the latter had his moments at the end of the each round. In the fifth round Osipov suffered a low blow and got a brief rest. He came back firing punches on Vesialou to take the round. In the sixth it was Vesialou firing away taking the round. In the seventh round Vesialou suffered a small cut on right cheek but had a good round in a close fight. In the eighth and final round both had their moments in a close fight but neither dominated.
Scores were each getting a 78-74 and a 76-76 which this writer had.
Bantamweight Narek Abgaryan, 15-1 (6), of Yerevan, Armenia, defeated southpaw Sabelo Ngebinyana, 13-5 (10), of Capetown, RSA, over 8 good rounds.
In the first two rounds Ngebinyana was the aggressor as Abgaryan moved well with hands to the side for the most part countering. Thirty seconds into the round a right on the chin from Abgaryan and down went Ngebinyana for an 8-count. He got up and took it to Abgaryan the rest of the round. In the fourth round Ngebinyana rocked Abgaryan who was forced to grab his opponent. In the final minute it was Abgaryan taking it to Ngebinyana.
In the next three rounds both fighters had their moments with Abgaryan holding a slight edge due to knockdown. In the eighth and final round Ngebinyana complained about an eye injury possibly from a clash of heads. Abgaryan rocked him in the final minute with a right on the chin.
This writer had it 77-74 Abgaryan.
Super Feather Zhora Hamazaryan, 11-3-2 (8), of Armenia and L.A., CA, stopped Sherzodjon Abdurazzakov, 2-3 (0), of UZB and Ekaterinburg, Russia, at 2:36 of the sixth of a scheduled 8 rounds.
In the first round Abdurazzakov came out and rocked Hamazaryan with a right on the chin but failed to follow up right away. In the next three rounds Hamazaryan held a slight edge. In the sixth round a counter right from Hamazaryan on the chin and down went Abdurazzakov but got up immediately and for some reason the referee called a halt prematurely to the disgust of Abdurrazzakov.
Super Fly southpaw Zafar Parpiev, 11-2 (3), of TAJ and Nizhnevartovsk, Russia, defeated Artem Tkachenko, 6-1-1 (4), of Novosibirsk, Russia, over 8 rounds.
In the first four rounds Parpiev, countered Tkachenko who was the aggressor. In the seventh round Parpiev hurt Tkachenko with a liver shot. In the eighth and final round both fighters let it all hang out in a good 8 round bout.
