At the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, Wednesday night over Premier Boxing Championships via Fox Sports 1 and TGB Promotions – Tom Brown, Welterweight Eimantes Stanionis of Lithuania stopped Justin “The Chosen One” DeLoach of Augusta, GA, in the Main Event in the ninth round.
In the Main Event 2016 Olympian Eimantes Stanionis, 11-0 (8), #147 3/4, of Kaunas, Lithuania, stopped Justin “The Chosen One” DeLoach, 19-5 (10), #146 1/2, of Augusta, GA, at 2:53 of the ninth scoring a pair of knockdowns in a scheduled 10.
In the third and fifth rounds the stronger Stanionis used his power to hurt the countering DeLoach with a left hook’s to the body making him hold on. Near the end of the seventh round Stanionis had DeLoach hurt and holding on in the final half minute of the round from a right on the chin.
In the ninth round Stanionis twice dropped DeLoach with a powerful left hook to the body and again with a pair of rights to the chin. Upon rising Stanionis jumped all over DeLoach until referee Ray Corona wisely called a halt.
In the co-feature returning after 17 months Super Welterweight southpaw Chordale “The Gift” Booker, 16-0 (7), #154 1/2, of Stamford, CT, won a split decision over Sanny “Sonny Prime Time” Duversonne, 11-2-2 (8), #154 1/2, of Avon Park, FL, over 8 action rounds.
In the first three rounds Booker kept coming forward having Duversonne against the ropes on the defense for the most part. Duversonne picked up the action in the fourth. In the sixth round Duversonne rocked Booker with a right on the chin in the final minute of the round. Again, in the final minute of the seventh round spinning off the ropes Duversonne hurt Booker with a right to the chin having him holding on and his nose bleeding up until the end of the round. In the eighth and final round Duversonne seemed to have a slight edge.
Scores were 77-75 Duversonne and 77-75 twice for Booker. This writer had it 76-76 a draw.
Returning after 20 months Super Lightweight Kent Cruz, 16-0 (9), #139 1/2, of St. Louis, MO, stopped Mexico’s Erik “Guero” Humberto Castillo, 9-3 (3), #145, of San Diego, CA, at 2:59 of the 2nd in a scheduled 8 rounds.
In the first round Castillo came out to touch gloves and got hit by a Cruz left hook on the chin. Cruz continued moving Castillo back the entire round. In the second round Cruz continued the offense having Castillo taking too much punishment. With a second left in the round the corner of Castillo advised referee Eddie Hernandez, Sr., to stop the fight.
