Will Ruiz will be promoting and Manny Rivera doing the matchmaking for Hard Hitting Promotions return to the beautiful Fillmore facility in Philadelphia on Friday night. Headlining will be Philadelphia’s Ray “Tito” Serrano against unbeaten Malik “Iceman” Hawkins of Baltimore, MD, over a scheduled 10 rounds of boxing. There are 8 bouts scheduled.
Hard Hitting debuted March 24th of 2017 in their only appearance at this venue. On that occasion they only had six bouts but Friday they have twelve lined up with four of these bouts not certain.
Philadelphia’s Welterweight Ray “Tito” Serrano, 24-4 (10), weighed in at 146.8, who is 6-0 at home winning his last three fights after losing back to back fights. “I had a great training camp (L.A.) with Freddy Roach training me. His assistant trainer Ernie Zavala will be in my corner Friday night,” said Serrano. He is under the management of Mark Cipparone the owner of Rocco’s Collision. “Mark is certainly a big part of this. He makes sure I get tested in each fight. The reason I am around such good training is because of him. With all that, I feel that I can compete with anyone at welterweight, and I will continue to show it,” said Serrano. Cipparone also manages Philadelphia heavyweight Joey “The Tank” Dawejko, 19-4-4 (11), who is scheduled to fight April 28th in Philadelphia.
Serrano’s opponent in the main event is Malik “Iceman” Hawkins, 12-0 (9), weighed in at 146.1, of Baltimore, MD, who will be in his first ten round bout. Both boxers last fought in November of 2017.
There an eight round bout scheduled with Super Bantamweight Tramaine “Mighty Midget” Williams, 14-0 (5), weighed in at 124.7, of New Haven, CT, in one against Antonio Rodriguez, 12-20-1 (5), weighed in at 124.1, of Durango, MEX. Bouts scheduled for six rounds with Philly boxers Super Lightweight Jeremy “King” Cuevas, 7-0 (6), weighed 134.7, against Efrain “Macho” Cruz, 4-4-1 (1), weighed 137, of Vieques, PR. Heavyweight Darmani Rock, 10-0 (6), weighed 262, takes on Ronny Hale, 4-11 (4), weighed 280, of Austin, TX, and just fought in Philly scoring a knockout. Philly Lightweight Branden Pizarro, 8-1 (4), weighed 139, against Pablo Cupul, 9-23 (5), weighed 138, of San Diego, CA, and Philly Super Lightweight Sam “Tsunami” Teah, 12-2-1 (5), weighed 142.8, from Liberia against Orlando Rizo, 19-12 (11), of Vieques, PR.
In what should be an interesting six round Super Middleweight bout Ronald “Akeem” Ellis, 14-0-2 (10), weighed 167.4, of Lynn, MASS, takes on upset minded Taneal Goyco, 9-10-1 (4), weighed 165.8, of Philadelphia. Super Welterweight Joey Alday, Jr., 6-0 (6), weighed 158.1, of Odessa, TX, will meet Michael Crain, 1-1 (0), weighed 152.2, of Smyrna, DE.
