After bypassing on the Mayweather and McGregor exhibitiion this writer is expecting a real fight Saturday night when GGG and Canelo do battle. I have to admit GGG is my favorite boxer today. Canelo looks great “on paper” and I expect GGG to “box” before “lowering the boom” on Canelo.

When and if GGG defeats Canelo the critics of GGG will say “big deal, he beat a super welterweight!” There is a group of people, especially Mayweather followers who will never give GGG any credit.

This Saturday night if boxing needed a “life saver” this could be it! This writer will be “investing” $20 to watch it via PPV with his trusty lap top on the table at the “Fox and Hound” club.

Let’s hope the HBO PPV network puts on a good undercard unlike what the networks usually do not. “Sugar” Ray Robinson would roll over in his grave if he knew what today’s fighters are paid on some of these PPV shows!

Don’t be surprised if Canelo comes out like Danny Jacobs and fights southpaw! This writer looks forward to the battle between these “two Mexican warriors!” 49-1-1 vs 37-0 is something Nevada didn’t want so this bout ended up in Arizona. The same state that accepted Roy Jones, Jr. in March of 2016 when he “fought” Vyron Phillips who was 0-0 and Jones was 62-9!

This writer is hoping it’s one of the best $20 investments he has ever made when two of the best pound for pound boxers today “collide!”
