Ramon “Chocolita” Gonzalez, 44-0 (37), of Nicaragua in a War with WBC super featherweight champion Cuadros 35-1-1 (27), of Mexico, winning the new title of Cuadros.
In the opening round Gonzalez dominated pushing Cuadros all over the ring. In the second round Gonzalez continues to force the action almost landing at will. In the third round Cuadros get’s some punches in but showing little power. Gonzalez continues to stalk his opponent. In the fourth round Cuadros landed a good left uppercut to the chin of Gonzalez. In the fifth round Cuadros flurries to take the round. In the seventh round Gonzalez has a cut along the outside of his right eye. In the sixth round Gonzalez keeps coming forward not wanting this fight to slip away. In the seventh Gonzalez put pressure on Cuadros driving him around the ring and suffering swelling under his left eye.
In the eighth round Gonzalez is punishing Cuadros who is running a lot the ring trying to stay away from the power of Gonzalez. In the ninth round both boxers mix it up with swelling under both eyes of Gonzalez as Cuadros cannot deal with the quickness of Cuadros. In the tenth round Cuadros is back in the fight and looking good. In the eleventh round it’s more of Cuadros closing the gap and looking the fresher of the two. In the twelfth and final round it’s a war and the fans are cheering both fighters. Gonzalez is trying for a knockout but running into punch by the faster Cuadros. They fought right to the bell.
