Five bouts
Debuting IBNAKBAR (no space) RICHARDSON, (DOB: 9-19-85), 199, Newark vs
0-5 ERIC GEORGE, 196, N.Falls, NY RESULT: IR W-4U (39-37; 40-36 twice) no
KD’s, good action. Taller IR is a sometimes switch-hitter – mostly orthodox
The now 0-6 EG does not fold up; IR good jab and distance, but doesn’t look mean
enough. I guess EG has some skills but looks slow (physically he reminds me of a
smaller Mike Tyson – body build wise that is.)
GODSON NOEL, 162 1/2, Newark vs debuting (DOB: 12-10-91) stocky LAVON
SLADE, 164, Philadelphia. RESULT: GN W-4M(38-38, 40-36, 39-37 (me too).
No KD’s; good action. LS hangs tough after rough round one. GN quicker hands is
difference
EDIIE EDMOND (he says no “S” at end of name), 160, Newark vs MICHAEL
MITCHELL, 159, Paterson, NJ. RESULT: MM W-4U (39-37; 40-36 twice) No KD’s,
but solid action. These two go at it; MM setting the pace. EE can’t deal with it. MM just
wants it more. Note: I believe that Edmond is son of co-promoter Hilliard
Rematch of a points win for Beale. JON BOLDEN, 219, Brooklyn, vs TYYAB
BEALE, 235, Newark RESULT: TB W-8U (80-71, 78-73 twice). JB lost point in
round six for hitting on break. I thought it was an even fight, 76-75 TB after point
deduction (holding?) Good action; no KD’s. Longer JB looks hyped while TB a bit too
cool. JB a bit sloppy as TB counters just well enough in a tense affair.
MICHAEL ANDERSON, 148, Newark vs GEORGE SOSA, 151, Reading, PA.
RESULT: MA W-8S (all cards read 77-75 – me; 77-76 Sosa (4-3-1) No KD’s, but plenty
of action, as GS made sure of that. Both man bruised faces. GS pushes it, seems to relish
the moment, while MA is slick. Does landing the nicer punches, but is hard pressed to
ever take control. Note: TK let round three go on much too long – and that was the best
action round of the fight. Guess he got caught up in the action. Sosa corner was furious.
All five bouts were entertaining – real good show, but i htink the promoter may have
pulled a Butch Lewis and lost his shirt. The gym was less than half filled and some tics
were $100.00!!!!
