Earlier this month, Travel Magazine rated Newark, NJ as the most unfriendly city on the planet – even ahead of Islamabad, Pakistan. Professional boxer and Newark native Alex “The Brick City Bullet” Perez (17-1, 9 KO) was not pleased with this negative press, which seemed to make headline news nationwide. Perez decided to start his trend of positive energy in Newark by starting up a drive to collect school supplies for the young students of his beloved city. “I came up with the idea of the back to school drive because I want people to see another side of Newark, other than what was reported in the news,” Perez said, “It has always been my dream to give back to my city, and I figure I’d start with the youth of our city.”
Alex Perez would like to invite everyone to come out this Saturday, August 24th and join his team in an effort to make a difference in the Newark community.
