When these two middleweight stalwarts meet this Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, the boxing ring will have quite an uncanny resemblance to a bull fighting ring.
The WBC middleweight belt holder, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., 46-0, 32 KOs, is the boxing version of a bull when he steps into that ring. Chavez is a large middleweight who rehydrates to even larger proportions the night of the fight. When that size is combined with his good punching power and strong chin, both aided by the greater fight night weight, Chavez is an imposing fighter who stalks his opponents around the ring, wearing them down until he finishes them off. His last two opponents, Marco Antonio Rubio and Andy Lee, both heavy hitters, were the much smaller men and paid the price for not staying clear of the charging bull.
