Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi 31-4, 7 KO’s dominated Freddie Roach pupil, Vyacheslav Senchenko 32-1, 21 KO’s on his way to a 9th round TKO victory today in Donetsk, Ukraine. With the win Paulie captured the WBA Welterweight Championship and his second world title.

Malignaggi showed ring generalship and used his experience and speed to batter Senchenko throughout the fight. He worked behind a sharp jab as he busted up the favored Senchenko and closed his eye. After a big right hand in the 9th, referee Steve Smoger had seen enough and stopped it at 1:10 of round number 9.

Many are saying this is Malignaggi best performance to date. He will be looking forward to defending his title at the new Barclays Center back home in Brooklyn, New York soon.
