It appears that Alex “The Brick City Bullet” Perez, 11-0, 7 KO’s finally has an opponent willing to step up to the plate and fight in the co-feature on Main Event’s ESPN2 show which will take place at the Prudential Arena in Newark this Friday, July 16. Perez has been training to fight whoever they put in from of him since the highly regarded Vincent Arroyo, 10-1, 7 KO’s pulled out of the fight.

Edvan Dos Santos Barros, 10-9, 7 KO’s is said to be his opponent. Barros has a deceiving record. He is a fighter who has fought all top notch competition including Luis Colazzo and Alexis Camacho. HBO even did a special “Ring Life” segment on Barros (links to it are below). The July 16th show, is part of Main Event’s Brick City Boxing Series will feature Zab Judah, 38-6, 26 KO’s vs. Jose Armando Santa Cruz, 28-4, 17 KO’s in the main event. It looks like it will be packed with competitive bouts from top to bottom, the card will also feature local favorites Nicky DeMarco, 2-2, 2 KO’s and Patrick Farrell, 5-1, 3 KO’s.
