ANDRADE OPENS UP SECOND CONSECUTIVE FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS TELECAST WITH A BANG

DEMETRIUS “BOO BOO” ANDRADE

2007 amateur world champion and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade made his second consecutive appearance on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights” this Friday at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, TX and improved his record to 4-0, 4KO.

Andrade who opened the March 6th FFN telecast with a first round annihilation of Tom Joseph, once again showed why many consider him to be the top amateur prospect to come out of the 2008 Olympics, by dismantling Arnulfo Javier Romero (3-4, 1KO), scoring a TKO at 2:53 of the second round. The bout was promoted by Andrade’s co-promoters, Art Pelullo’s Banner Promotions, and Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing.

Andrade used his blinding hand speed and tremendous power to completely dominate Romero from the opening bell dropping him with a heavy barrage of punches just as the first round was coming to an end.

Romero showed heart, but had no answer for Andrade’s speed. A huge counter left uppercut in the second round from Andrade put Romero flat on his back. The referee began his count but Romero was in no shape to continue as the referee called a halt to the contest.

Only 21-years-old, Andrade continues to be impressive each time out, and although it is still early in his career, there is no question he has the skills and ability to become an absolute superstar in the years to come.
