Is “Bad” Chad Dawson the Future of American Boxing?

I have asked this question before, and we are waiting to see if it will happen. With tough stalwarts such as Kelly Pavlik and Paulie Malignaggi set for blockbuster fights in the coming weeks, Chad Dawson is flying under the radar. However, the man from southern New England just might be the best we have to offer.

Dawson is a slick boxer, who has many physical gifts to make serious noise in the higher weights. He is a tall southpaw who poses dangerous problems for his opponents, and his quickness is something that cannot be taught. After all, you cannot teach speed.

Detractors are quick to point out that Dawson barely escaped against the rugged, yet aging Glen Johnson, but nevertheless, Dawson has that coveted
