This is an intriguing match up that is sure to provide some fireworks one way or the other. The brave Fernando Vargas is a warrior I would always pay to see because of his kill or be killed attitude and the fact that he will always fight until he is victorious or he is carried off on his shield. Mayorga is another guy who talks so much he has no choice but to back it up. In a fight between two tough guys like this, it should come down to who is more technically sound.

Fernando Vargas should win this fight due to his technical superiority. However, Fernando has issues with his back, and I know from personal experience that with that kind of injury you do not know how you will feel until you wake up the day of the fight, or even until the fight starts. He has also had difficulty with his stomach and making weight which can play a part especially if the fight goes into the later rounds.
