Professional Boxing returns to the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ on Thursday, December 6, 2007 . “Season’s Beating’s is going to be a great show ! ” stated Hall of Fame Boxing President, Donna Brooks. “We’re retuning to New Jersey with a top notch boxing show loaded with talent, and we’re doing it with no TV ! The local fight club has disappeared from NJ – it’s either Atlantic City or nothing for the NJ boxing fans who’ve always supported their hometown favorites, and the Robert Treat Hotel is a great place to come out and cheer them on.”
The main event features a light heavyweight showdown between Brooklyn born lShaun George (now residing in Wayne, NJ), 15-2-2, squaring off against Hartford, Ct.’s Eric Harding, 23-4. In Harding’s last bout he went 12 hard rounds with World Champion Chad Dawson, after dropping Dawson in the first round.
“I’ve been wanting for this fight for a long time, and I can’t wait to get Harding in the ring !, said George. ” We sparred a few times last year, I don’t like him -he mouths off way too much ! I’m ready to move up the ladder, and he’s in my way so he has to go!”, stated the 27year old George.
Preliminary bouts will showcase exciting young talent including Newark’s Alex Perez, 8-0, heavyweight Scott Fairlaine, 4-0 from Butler , junior middleweight Ronnie Vargas, 3-0, Irvingto’s John Watson, and world rated welterweight Troy Browning, 20-0.
