I have just been informed that Dat “Dat be Dat” Nguyen will be fighting in the co-feature on ESPN’s Wednesday Night Fights, in Boston, on July 18. Nguyen, who is undefeated at 10-0, 6 KO’s, will be fighting in support of the Mike Oliver vs. Cruz Carbajal main event at The Park Plaza’s Castle.

Nguyen is steadily gaining attention from the sanctioning bodies, and he is ranked number 14 by the NABF and number 31 by the WBC. The 24 year-old Vietnam native is trained by Buddy McGirt, and he campaigns as a featherweight.

Nguyen is coming off of a TKO victory over Yamin Muhammad, which took place on the Paulie Malignaggi vs. Lovemore N’Dou undercard. That bout was Nguyen’s first eight-rounder, but the fight ended in the sixth. An opponent for the July 18th bout is still pending.
