Darnell “Ding-A-Ling Man” Wilson has just knocked out Emmanuel Nwodo with a vicious left hook, in the 11th round. Nwodo was down a total of three times, but after a flash knockdown in the third, he appeared to win most of the middle rounds. Wilson came back in round ten and scored the second knockdown, and in round eleven, he closed the show. In the final sequence Wilson missed a right hand, but Nwodo was wide open and never saw the follow-up left hook coming.
Wilson’s left hook buckled Nwodo’s leg’s under him, and in an anxious scene at ringside, Nwodo was down for several minutes, while the doctors attended to him. This knockout was devastating, and it is sure to make the highlight reels for the rest of the year. The time was 2:00 of round 11, and Wilson earned the USBA Cruiserweight belt.
A ringside report of the Main Event and the Undercard will follow from Staten Island, NY.
