Seeking a Manager and Promoter
23 year old amateur standout Jonte Willis is ready to take the next step in his career by turning professional. The 2006 super heavyweight U.S. national champion is excited about his new career endeavor.
“In the next month or two, I’d like to make my pro debut,” said Willis. “I’m a 2006 national champion, and I’m an up and comer who is ready to make a statement.”
Training out of the Tacoma Boxing Club in Tacoma Washington, Willis is trained by 2000 United States Olympic coach Tom Mustin.
“I’m very loyal to Tom,” said Willis. “But I am still looking for a trustworthy manager and promoter who will look out for my best interests.”
Other notable accomplishments in Willis’ amateur career are his 2nd place finish at the 2006 Tacoma Golden Gloves and his 2nd place showing at the 2006 PAL National Championships.
Willis, who hopes to win a title at either cruiserweight or heavyweight, is confident about how his skills will translate into the pro ranks.
“My best assets are my speed and power,” he said. “I’m also very good on my feet.”
