Six Event Series to Highlight Top Amateur Boxers from Baltimore, New England, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. Areas
PHILADELPHIA- Cheer on boxing’s up and coming superstars as CN8, The Comcast Network broadcasts six weeks of Golden Gloves action featuring athletes from Baltimore, New England, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. beginning Saturday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. with the New England Regionals. CN8 is co-producing these telecasts with TVSN, the worldwide media rights holder for Golden Gloves.
The Golden Gloves is a series of United States amateur boxing events that culminates with the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions. Former Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions winners include Muhammad Ali, Oscar de la Hoya, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather and Evander Holyfield.

CN8’s six-event series will air Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. beginning April 21. Coverage includes regional events and the Tournament of Champions semi-finals and finals from Chattanooga, TN. The Golden Gloves regional coverage will feature color commentary by former WBA world champion Sean O’Grady and veteran blow-by-blow announcer Nick Charles. Commentator Larry Michael and O’Grady will call the national events.
In addition to airing on CN8, the Golden Gloves events will be available simultaneously on www.cn8.tv via streaming video. Following each broadcast, the specials will also be available ON DEMAND at no additional cost to Comcast Digital Cable customers.
