Today I was disgusted to learn that the WBC has unnecessarily stripped Joel Casamayor of his title for not immediately facing mandatory challenger David Diaz. Casamayor is slated to face WBO champion Acelino Freitas in what would have been a unification bout. Unification bouts have been seriously lacking and boxing really needed this! What adds more fuel to the fire is the fact that the WBO just named an interim Lightweight Champion to Freitas
