Don’t call it a comeback he’s been here for years, last night at the Main St. Armory in Rochester, NY live on ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights former heavyweight contender Dominick Guinn 28-4-1 (19 KO’s) made short work of the tough journeyman Zuri Lawrence 20-12-4 stopping the New Yorker in two round of a ten round scheduled bout.
Coming out with a one fight win streak the ‘Southern Disaster’ knew his back was against the wall, and he laid the leather as it was! Coming out pacing himself Guinn took his time fighting on the slow pace on the inside to open up round one, but as Guinn and Lawrence continued to work over one another with in the second round the Arkansan landed a thumping short right hand that dropped Lawrence with twenty-one seconds to go.
Beating the count Lawrence came up from the canvas ready to go but was met with double right hands, the last landing and laying out Lawrence once again. A wholehearted Lawrence once again beat the count but was blurry eyed and stunned enough for the referee to call it a night with one second left in the second round.
Guinn a former hot rising contender who had a few fights fall south needed this fight, got this and took care of this fight!
