Roberto started Boxing at the New York City’s Boys Club of America at
10 years of age. This was after trying baseball, and Basketball both of which didn’t fit his needs. When Roberto started Boxing, it was love at first punch. Benitez hasn’t stopped punching since.

He won the United States Junior Olympics at 14 and 15 years of age
