Mayweather vs Pacquiao Tickets On Sale This Week

Joe Latti – Brick City Boxing

The fight we have all been waiting for is less than three weeks away, and we are still learning details about how to actually see the event.

According to FOX5, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe said tickets will “one hundred percent” go on sale this week.  No specific date has been given, and when asked how many tickets will be available to the public, Ellerbe’s only words were “quite a few.”  Ellerbe also noted that a contract between MGM and the promoters has not been finalized, as there are still issues to be resolved over ticket allotment and hotel rooms for the Mayweather and Pacquiao camps. What we do know about tickets is that face value will range from $1,500 to $7,500, and they are sure to sell out fast.

If you are planning to travel to Las Vegas for the event without tickets, there are limited viewing options.  MGM Resorts International has exclusive rights to the event, meaning other hotels cannot broadcast the fight.  The only way to see the fight is to buy a $150 ticket to watch on a closed-circuit broadcast at one of the MGM properties, which includes the MGM Grand, the Bellagio, the Mirage, and the Monte Carlo.  Guests staying at these hotels cannot order the event on pay-per-view (starting at $89.95) in their rooms, forcing them to pay the $150 price tag for a closed-circuit viewing.

All the details should be settled this week, but we do know that if you are traveling to Las Vegas, your only options are to attend the fight or grab a closed-circuit ticket to watch at an MGM property.  For either option, it looks like you will have to move quickly.
