“Hawaiian Mongoose” Added to “Punchin at the Paradise” August 24: Title Shot to Follow

By: Christopher Roche

Eileen “The Hawaiian Mongoose” Olszewski has been added to Star Boxing’s “Punchin’ at the Paradise” series on August 24. The card will be part of ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights”, but it has not been announced yet if Olszewski’s bout will be televised.

Olszewski climbs in against Suzannah Warner, of England. Warner, who now resides in New York, defeated the same opponents as Olszewski, and Warner holds a record of 7-4. The fighters appear to be evenly matched on paper, and the duel will take place over six rounds. If all goes well for Olszewski, a WBC title shot at 109 lbs. is in the cards over in Venice, Italy, so Olszewski has a lot riding on the bout with Warner.

Olszewski, who lives and trains in Manhattan, NY, recently upset Noriko Kariya, in only her third professional bout. Olszewski is 3-0, and she has a stellar, undefeated amateur background that includes three national titles, three national Golden Gloves titles as well as three New York City Golden Gloves titles. Olszewski also won a title at the Pan Am Games. Prior to boxing, Olszewski was a New York Knicks City Dancer, and she was a highly regarded kickboxer.
